Dr. Ricki Lewis at DNA Science Blog published today an in-depth look at a well-known bioethics case. The case involved my undergraduate mentor, Dr. Therese Markow. As it turns out, there is no actual evidence to support the accusation that Dr. Markow used Havasupai Indian blood for a study on Schizophrenia without their consent. No Schizophrenia study using these samples has ever been conducted. So where did the story come from?
